Custom Made Orthotics

Orthotics are medical devices that assist your mobility and improve alignment in your feet and legs. Our chiropodist will take a mold of your feet using a non-weight bearing, sub-talar neutral plaster-of-paris cast and have custom inserts made by prescription. We can make custom orthotics for children and adults alike, athletes, and diabetics.
Custom made foot orthotics are prescribed for many biomechanical foot disorders including flat or high arched feet, planter fasciitis, back and leg pain, joint pain, shin splints, and metatarsal pain.

Unlike an arch support, a custom orthotic moves with your foot during your gait or walking cycle. Although orthotic devices may look like a simple pieces of plastic, they profoundly affect your entire musculoskeletal system. Orthotics may protect the tender areas of your foot from the wear and tear of constant use. Even if your foot problem is best treated by surgery, orthotics may delay the need for surgery and help maintain your surgical correction afterwards.

Custom & Orthopedic Footwear

For a number of reasons, many people’s feet simply aren’t suited for an off-the-shelf pair of shoes. Whether it’s in addressing pain or preventing possible complications, custom footwear in these cases is necessary.
At Divine Balance, we provide a wide range of custom-made footwear solutions including shoes, boots, and sandals that fit specifically to your feet.

Which sport shoes are best for my feet?
A number of sports shoes are available that contain specialized features to control abnormally functioning feet. Our chiropodist will perform a proper analysis of your foot and advise shoes that will best meet their foot health needs.

Are flip-flops good or bad for my feet?
This type of footwear is not ideal for feet as it offers very little support. Toes tend to "claw" as a result and the soft nature of the sole material often distorts very easily. Ladies who wear high heels throughout the winter are more susceptible to injury if they then convert to a flat flip-flop for summer as their calf muscles may not be able to tolerate the sudden increase in tension. This can lead to a variety of symptoms including plantar fasciitis, achilles tendon injuries, and back pain.
